This couple wanted nothing more than a beautiful spring day for their April wedding, and dreamed that they would be able to say “I Do” outdoors next to the L'Abri at Linwood pond. We worked with Lauren for a little over a year to help plan for her big day, and every time we spoke we would just say that the weather was going to be PERFECT and there was no need to discuss a rain plan at that time. We all said big prayers leading up to Lauren and Corey's wedding day. We prayed that we would have clear skies, but God had other plans. The saying remained true on April 20th. "April showers bring May flowers," and boy did we get some showers!
Right in the middle of the afternoon set up we had a total down pour and had to quickly revert to plan B. Our team and the L'abri team had worked together with Lauren the week prior to devise a rain plan JUST IN CASE the weather wasn't so perfect, and we are very thankful we had this plan to fall back on that day. Not only did we have pouring rain, but also extremely cold temperatures. We had to roll out the umbrellas, heaters, and warm coats- North Carolina weather at it's finest!
Even though Lauren and Corey didn't have their dreamy outdoor ceremony, it was still the most perfect day in every way. When we informed Lauren that it was raining and we were going to move her ceremony and reception indoors, her words were "If it's going to rain on my wedding day, I think I should at least have a rainbow."
Sure enough- that rainbow popped out between the clouds during Lauren and Corey's reception and Maggie Mills Photography was able to capture this special moment. What a surprise!! Lauren received her rainbow.
