The ladies of A Touch of Southern had the pleasure of meeting Melissa O’Hara, owner and visionary for the new venue currently under construction right outside of Durham, NC. Working with wedding professionals in the past sparked O'Hara's interest in one day owning a venue. Her dream will offer an al fresco dining option in the middle of the beautiful Carolina hardwood forests. The location is perfect for feeling as if you have escaped the city while being a short distance from Durham, Chapel Hill and Raleigh.
Carolina Grove is a beautiful White Barn structure with lofted ceilings and floor to ceiling windows on one wall that allows you to see nothing but beautiful foliage. The crisp white open tresses frame the gorgeous chandeliers over what could be your dining tables for your reception. Melissa has designed the venue to offer the perfect amenities, like a catering kitchen, bridal and groomsmen suites, along with a basement that has a total speakeasy feel to it. Don’t get us started about the Mezzanine loft that will make for some stunning bridal shots! One of our favorite parts has to be the outdoor location, pebble lined, with glimmering Edison lights. It is the perfect spot to say “I do” or to allow guests to dine under the stars!
